Online merchants have radically changed the way we shop for motorcycles and accessories. Browsing online makes it easy to find specialized accessories or parts to let you customize your bike. In the past, getting specific parts for your motorcycle, old or new, could be quite a challenge, especially if you live in a small city or town. The motorcycle industry continues to move forward at a fast pace. Technology continues to make bikes more efficient, stable, quiet, aerodynamic, lightweight and with more features. The fact that a lot of the cutting edge equipment can be bought online just makes sense.

There are subcultures within the industry: sport biking, touring, vintage bikes, harleys, etc. each with a very different crowd. The subcultures are quite different when it comes to mainstream society. Let's face it, when you are together with other people interested in a particular type of biking, a bond exists that doesn't happen everyday. Many people find it hard to relate to the allure - traveling by bike itself is not a social event; you can't really talk to anyone around you, you can only ride on weather permitting days, it lacks comfort. But the appreciation for the road, the unbeatable feeling of riding in open air, it just doesn't get much better. Give yourself a treat by shopping at well stocked internet stores.

Tips for making purchases and buying online:

  • Try not to use obvious numbers like a birth date or phone number. Instead, try to use combinations of numbers and letters.
  • Be diligent about maintaining the privacy of your individual passwords. Try to have some creativity when thinking of a password, and don’t tell anyone else what it is.
  • Bookmark the places you buy items at. If you wish to make future purchases or need to contact the company, you will easily find the store again.
  • Make sure the shop ships their products to the area you live in.
  • If buying a gift, make sure there is time to spare for shipping.
  • Most internet stores charge a fee for shipping that changes with time - ie: if you don’t need fast shipping, cost of shipping will generally be less.
  • Check for fees and how long it will take for delivery to see if they fit with your time-line and budget.
  • Record the items you purchase. Be sure to print and keep a copy of your confirmation number and your purchase order to keep for your records.
