Internet surfing has revolutionized our mindset when shopping for motorcycles and accessories. Shopping online makes it easy to find specialized accessories or parts in order to customize your bike. In the past, finding many parts for your motorcycle, old or new, could be quite a challenge, especially if you live in a small town. The motorcycle industry is evolving at a fast pace. Technology continues to make bikes more efficient, stable, quiet, aerodynamic, lightweight and with more features. The fact that a lot of the new equipment can be bought online just makes sense.

There are many sections within the industry: sport biking, touring, vintage bikes, harleys, etc. each with its unique crowd. The subcultures really stick out when it comes to mainstream society. Let's face it, when you are together with other people interested in a particular type of biking, a type of bond exists that doesn't happen everyday. A lot of people just can not relate - traveling by bike is not a good way to be social; you can't really talk to anyone around you, you can only ride on weather permitting days, it can get really uncomfortable. But the appreciation for the road, the thrill of open riding, it just doesn't get much better. Give yourself a treat by shopping at well stocked stores on the internet.

Tips for making purchases and buying online:

  • Try not to use obvious numbers like a birth date or phone number. Instead, use both letters and numbers.
  • Be diligent about maintaining the privacy of your personal passwords. Try to have some creativity when thinking of a password, and don’t let anyone know it.
  • Bookmark the sites you make purchases from. If you wish to make future purchases or need to contact the company, you will easily be able to find the site again.
  • Make sure the online merchant can make shipments to the area you live in.
  • If you are shopping for a gift, make sure there is time to spare for the item to arrive at your house or theirs.
  • Most internet stores charge a fee for shipping that changes with time - ie: if you don’t need rush delivery, cost of shipping will generally be less.
  • Check for length of delivery times and charges to see if they fit with your time-line and budget.
  • Keep a record of your purchases. Be sure to keep a copy that has been printed out of your confirmation number and your purchase order to keep for your records.
